exper!ence it and Al Moreshed Trading Company, Abu Dhabi, UAE The United Arab Emirates is a spectacular place, with wonderful people and an economy that is booming due to the increased prices of oil. Don Jones just returned from his second trip to Abu Dhabi in the UAE. e!’s partner and sponsor in the Gulf Region is The Al Moreshed Trading Company. Chairman and CEO, His Excellency Omair El Sabousi (pictured) had organized a lecture for Don to address key government and business leaders about the use of simulations in leading cultural change efforts. “The interest was greater than we anticipated. Organizations are ready to find sophisticated alternatives to traditional lecture-based change initiatives.” During Don’s stay Al Moreshed arranged for a new partnership between e! and Real Time Training Company. Real Time is one of the key training partners for the government and private sectors in Abu Dhabi. There will be more information on some of the projects underway in our next newsletter.
The Center for Creative Leadership Ron Christian was in North Carolina, Marie Texeira in Brussels and Don Jones in Singapore as they synchronously launched Norse Inc. – one of the most technically challenging simulation designs on the planet. The Center for Creative Leadership (CCL), rated in the top five open enrollment leadership centers in the world by Business Week, was looking for a leading edge alternative to be the foundation for a new program they are launching globally – Advancing Global Leadership. They chose e! to design a simulation that would link three classrooms, on three continents, synchronously. The classrooms are of about 25 people with each running their regional part of a global shipping company. Each has to deal with local cultures, regulations, competition and economic cycles, while at the same time dealing with larger global considerations such as talent shortages, global competition, resource shortages, increased fuel prices. Every local decision is felt globally and every global decision affects each local business. Welcome to a world of opportunity, challenge and complexity. The simulation had a successful launch and we are handing over the final product to CCL prior to Christmas with a train the trainer to follow in January.
The Journey Home- Teambuilding and Alignment Simulation Chicago was the setting for the delivery of a Journey Home for about 40 managers from National Express. The overall program was incredibly successful, with the simulation embedded within it. The debriefing focused on alignment, customer focus and innovation. The participants loved the experience and they were leveraging the key lessons for the remainder of the three-day retreat. At the same time, Dr. Pat Sherlock was delivering The Journey Home at Whirlpool as they piloted a New Employee Boot-camp. The feedback was very positive and they are looking to broaden the use of the program for 2008. Pat used a workshop in addition to the simulation, based on the Lessons from the Learning Pods (see our blog). These key lessons will form the basis of a new booklet for e!
The Journey Home has been around for a long time now and over 30,000 participants have rated it highly all along the way. The more we deliver this three-hour program, the more depth it reveals. Check out the Journey Home on our website. It always over-delivers on engagement, powerful team building, lessons on alignment, leadership and others.
